Trust magazine praised by judges - May 2007
Baillie Gifford has won the Best Newsletter Award at this year's Association of Investment Companies' (AIC) 'Best Information to Shareholders Awards', which were presented during the AIC's Annual Dinner on 10 May 2007.
Baillie Gifford's Trust magazine was praised as a 'high-quality' and 'upmarket' newsletter, which had proved 'a hit with the judges as it contained thoughtful articles'.
Speaking about the win, Lindsey Greig, Director of Baillie Gifford Savings Management, which produces Trust magazine, commented:
"It is a real thrill to win this award. Trust is an important part of our ongoing commitment to looking after our shareholders, and we value it highly. By combining fresh and clear design with high-quality, topical articles written by some of the country's best financial writers, we aim to provide a really interesting and enjoyable read".
Criteria used by the judges to evaluate the entries were: clarity and relevance of the information, presentation and appearance of information, and overall accessibility to investors.
Baillie Gifford's Trust magazine commended for AIC award - May 2006
In May 2006, Trust magazine was commended for the Best Newsletter award at the AIC's annual Best Information to Shareholders awards. The awards are overseen by an independent panel of judges comprising: Mark Dampier, Head of Research, Hargreaves Lansdown; Andrew Adams, Senior Lecturer in Finance, University of Edinburgh and the chairman of the judges, Lawrence Lever. The judges found this sector an especially close call to judge.
Baillie Gifford's Trust magazine wins AITC award - July 2005
Baillie Gifford's Trust magazine was voted joint Best Newsletter at the Association of Investment Trust Companies (AITC) annual Best Information to Shareholders awards. The Baillie Gifford investment trust website (www.bailliegifford.com) was also commended by the judges.
The judging panel was impressed by the overall high quality of Trust, including the use of journalists commissioned to write the articles. The latest issue of Trust, published this month, includes commentary from David Smith, Economics Editor of The Sunday Times, and Clare Gascoigne, who regularly contributes to the Financial Times and The Times.
Baillie Gifford's website was commended for its use of video interviews with fund managers and its easy to use format. The judges also praised the link between Baillie Gifford online and offline marketing materials.
